Annual Performance Test

The aim of an Annual Performance Test (APT) is to determine whether a VDR/S-VDR operates in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.

Since a VDR/S-VDR is a “black box” device, it is important to obtain documentation that explicitly shows all interfaces with the peripheral devices and confirms that they comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) test standards. This documentation is essential for surveyors and inspectors of flag states and classification societies.
